Overview
Gombe National Park, Tanzania's smallest national park, is world-famous as the site where Dr Jane Goodall began her pioneering chimpanzee research in 1960. Set on the forested hillsides above Lake Tanganyika, the park offers intimate encounters with habituated chimpanzee communities that have been observed continuously for over 60 years. The park is only accessible by boat from Kigoma, adding to its remote charm.
