Overview
Jozani Forest in the Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park is the largest indigenous forest remaining on Zanzibar and the only home of the endemic Zanzibar red colobus monkey, one of Africa's rarest primates. Guided walks through the dappled forest provide close encounters with habituated troops of these distinctive monkeys, along with suni antelopes, Ader's duikers, and an outstanding diversity of bird life. The forest also contains spectacular stands of tall mahogany and the eerie prop-rooted environment of coastal mangrove forest.
