About Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park packs an extraordinary diversity of habitats into a compact 325 km² — from lush groundwater forest at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment to open floodplain, acacia woodland and the soda lake itself. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large hippo pools and the pink curtain of flamingos that lines the lakeshore. Blue monkeys, colobus, elephants and buffalo thrive in the forests.
