About Morogoro

Morogoro is a sizeable city at the foot of the dramatic Uluguru Mountains in east-central Tanzania, one of the most important agricultural centres in the country with fertile soils producing vegetables, spices, and sugarcane for Dar es Salaam's markets. The Uluguru Mountains rising directly behind the town are a recognized biodiversity hotspot and Eastern Arc mountain range, offering excellent hiking and forest walks within easy reach of the city. Morogoro sits on the main highway between Dar es Salaam and the interior, making it a natural overnight stop on the way to Ruaha, Mikumi, or Selous.
