Overview
Kizimkazi on Zanzibar's southern tip is famous as one of East Africa's most reliable spots for year-round dolphin encounters, with resident pods of bottlenose and humpback dolphins that can be observed on morning boat excursions. The village is also home to the Dimbani Mosque — one of the oldest mosques in sub-Saharan Africa, with Kufic inscriptions dating to 1107 AD. The surrounding coast offers excellent snorkelling over pristine shallow reefs.
