Overview
Saadani National Park is the only wildlife sanctuary in East Africa that borders the Indian Ocean, offering a unique combination of beach, river and bush. Elephants wander onto white sand beaches, and the Wami River supports large hippo and crocodile populations. Green turtles nest on the beaches between April and August. The park's relative remoteness keeps visitor numbers low.
