Overview
Sanje Waterfalls in the Udzungwa Mountains National Park are among Tanzania's most spectacular, cascading in two dramatic tiers down forested cliffs for a combined drop of approximately 170 metres into a cool natural pool below. The trail to the falls passes through dense Eastern Arc rainforest rich with endemic birds, primates including the Sanje mangabey, and enormous tree ferns, making the hike as rewarding as the destination. Swimming in the pool at the base of the falls is one of the most refreshing rewards in Tanzanian hiking.
